Erin Brown is the Deputy Director of the Management Bureau’s Office of Management Policy, Budget and Performance (M/MPBP) at the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Prior to serving as Deputy Director of M/MPBP, she launched USAID’s new Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) agenda as the Agency’s Acting Chief DEIA Officer in the Office of the Administrator, including development of its 2021 DEIA Strategic Plan and an Equity Action Plan. Ms. Brown joined the USAID in 2012 after 13 years in the private sector. Prior to joining USAID, Ms. Brown was a Senior Principal at the Hay Group, a global management consulting firm, where she led the Building Effective Organizations Practice in the Federal Sector. A two-time Gears of Government award-winner at USAID, Ms. Brown helped establish a new Safeguarding Unit to help protect recipients of USAID assistance from sexual exploitation and abuse, and launched a new Organizational Health Index to gauge the strength of USAID’s internal operations and mission readiness. She holds a bachelor of arts (BA) degree in Political Science from the Loyola University of New Orleans, a master’s degree in public policy (MPP) from the University of Chicago and a master of arts (MA) in organizational sciences from The George Washington University.
