Mojaloop expert, standards practitioner, payments aficionado
Michael has worked in the payments industry for the past fifteen years, initially on Kenya's M-Pesa mobile money system, where he became chief architect. Since then, he has worked on other mobile money systems and, since its foundation, with the Mojaloop Foundation. He is a member of the Design Authority, the Product Council and the Community Council, and is the rapporteur of the Change Control Board, which oversees the Mojaloop family of APIs. In addition, he is the Mojaloop Foundation's representative for the ISO 20022 standards organisation, where he is deeply engaged in aligning the standard more closely with the requirements of Emerging Markets and Developing Economies (EMDE); he is also vice-convenor of the ISO 20022 API group.
