Strategy and Research Officer & Africa Strategic Business Development BankservAfrica As a Business and Strategy Management Consultant, Sarel has worked in a wide range of industries. He applied most of his knowledge to the financial sector, specifically to the payment and banking sectors. He is an accredited Chartered Management Accountant and holds multiple degrees. He joined BankservAfrica Growth and Transformation Division in 2018 and responsible for multiple business and product innovations and interventions as part of BankservAfrica’s growth endeavours including but not limited to domestic processing hubs and domestic cash start-ups. Most prominently, he was responsible as lead designer of the cross-border payment scheme, TCIB (Transactions Cleared on an Immediate Basis) in 2019. More recently he headed the Strategy Business Development for the BankservAfrica’s Africa Business Development Division driving the TCIB mobilization and growth efforts.
